Scripture Focus: “…then the man said, ‘The WOMAN WHOM YOU GAVE to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.’” – Genesis 3:12
After sinning, Adam’s immediate response was to shift blame to Eve and even to God. This tendency to avoid responsibility is a common human flaw, but true repentance begins when we fully admit our own mistakes.
Adam’s failure to take ownership strained his relationship with God and left him consumed by fear. Sin not only distorts our perception but also weakens our character, making us more prone to fall again. Blaming others delays forgiveness and restoration, while owning our actions brings freedom.
Are there areas in your life where you’ve shifted blame? Acknowledge your part and open your heart to God’s mercy. Growth begins when we stop making excuses and embrace responsibility.
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to stand accountable before You in Jesus’ name.
