Scripture Focus: “And Adam KNEW his wife Eve, and she conceived.” – Genesis 4:1
The Bible’s first mention of sexual intimacy uses the word “knew,” translated from the Hebrew word yada, which signifies a deep, relational, and spiritual connection beyond mere physicality. This sacred union in Genesis occurred within marriage, between Adam and Eve, highlighting God’s intentional design for intimacy to be reserved for marriage alone.
Sexual intimacy is not a casual act but a covenant expression designed to reflect God’s holiness and unity. As believers, we are called to honour God by keeping the marriage bed undefiled and avoiding casual or premarital relationships. Choosing to respect God’s purpose for intimacy is an act of worship and obedience, preserving purity and aligning with His divine plan.
Prayer: Father, give me the strength and grace to honour You with my body, keeping it as a temple for Your glory.
