SHUT OUT ENVY!

Scripture Focus: “Let us not become CONCEITED, provoking one another, envying one another” Galatians 5:26.

In the story of Cain and Abel, both brought offerings to God, yet only Abel’s was accepted. Instead of looking to improve, Cain became envious of Abel. God’s response to Cain in the book of Genesis was clear: “If you do well, will you not be accepted?” (Genesis 4:7).

It’s easy to feel jealousy when someone else excels or finds favour. Whether at work, church, or within the family, envy can creep in. But rather than allowing envy to dominate your thoughts, choose to learn from those who succeed. Reflect on their strengths and find ways to improve yourself. God rewards a heart that seeks growth over comparison.

Prayer: Father, help me to be inspired to focus on my growth, celebrating others’ success while striving to improve in Jesus’ name.

Further Study: James 3:14-16.
