WALKING WITH GOD

Scripture Focus: “And Enoch walked with God…” Genesis 5:24
Genesis 5:24 tells us, “Enoch walked with God.” Interestingly, this began at age 65 when he
became the father of Methuselah. Methuselah’s name means “judgment will come as soon as
he dies.” This prophetic name may have served as a constant reminder for Enoch to walk
closely with God. Whenever Methuselah fell ill, Enoch likely reflected on the prophecy, fostering
a godly fear and reverence that guided his life.
This teaches us the value of reminders in our spiritual journey. Surrounding ourselves with
scriptures, attending church, and consistently hearing God’s word helps keep us focused on
Him. Just as Methuselah’s name reminded Enoch of God’s plan, these spiritual practices remind
us to walk faithfully with God daily.
Prayer: Lord, help me set reminders that keep me aligned with Your will. May I walk with You
faithfully all the days of my life. Amen.
