Scripture Focus: Genesis 6:5
Genesis 6:4 describes giants, men of renown, influential and mighty people. Yet, in the very
next verse, God observes their wickedness and grieves over the corruption of humanity. While
humans admired their power and success, God judged their hearts and found them wanting.
This reminds us that God’s standard is different from ours. We often judge people by their
achievements, appearance, or status, but God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). It is not
outward greatness that matters but inward righteousness. Let us strive to see people as God
sees them and focus on cultivating hearts that honor Him.
Prayer: Lord, help me to see others through Your eyes and not by outward appearances. Create
in me a pure heart that pleases You. Amen.
