REMAINING STEADFAST AFTER VICTORY

Scripture Focus: Genesis 9:20-21
In Genesis 9:20-21, after the flood and Noah’s great victory in fulfilling God’s command, the
Bible records that Noah planted a vineyard, drank of the wine, and became drunk, exposing his
nakedness. This moment of weakness came after significant triumphs, sacrifices, and God’s
covenant. It serves as a cautionary tale for us as believers: victory is not the time to relax our
guard.
Often, after moments of great success or spiritual breakthroughs, we are most vulnerable to
mistakes. This can happen when we become too comfortable or lose focus on our dependence
on God. Victories are a blessing, but they must be followed by humility, vigilance, and
steadfastness to avoid falling into error. Stay focused!
Prayer: Lord, help me to remain steadfast and humble, especially after victories. May I always
remember that success comes from You and stay focused on living a life that pleases You.
Amen.
