Scripture Focus: Genesis 11:5-8; Daniel 4:30-37
In Genesis 11, the builders of the Tower of Babel were on the brink of success. God Himself
acknowledged their unity and potential, but their motives were flawed, they sought self-glory.
The Bible says God came down to examine their work and, finding it wanting, scattered their
plans. Similarly, Nebuchadnezzar exalted himself, boasting of the great Babylon he built for his
glory. God judged him, reminding him and us that all glory belongs to Him alone.
This teaches us that God examines all we do, ensuring it aligns with His purpose and glorifies
Him. When we build for self, God in His mercy may disrupt those plans to prevent us from
walking in rebellion. Man was created to glorify God, not himself. Whatever we do, our careers,
relationships, or goals, must reflect His glory. Anything less will ultimately be judged or undone.
Prayer: Lord, examine my motives and align my heart to glorify You in all I do. Help me build my
life, not for myself, but for Your glory. Amen.
