Scripture Focus: Genesis 12:17; Isaiah 46:10
Abram’s choice to leave Canaan for Egypt did not just endanger Sarai, it threatened God’s
redemptive plan. Sarai was destined to bear the lineage of the Messiah, and God would not
allow her womb to be defiled by a pagan king. In His sovereignty, God struck Pharaoh’s
household with plagues to protect His divine purpose (Genesis 12:17).
This teaches us that God will preserve His plans, even from our own errors. However, it is far
better to trust His guidance than to take detours that require divine intervention. Compromise
can lead to danger, but obedience secures destiny. Stay within God’s will and let Him
accomplish His purpose in you.
Prayer: Lord, keep me in Your will and protect me from choices that could hinder Your purpose.
Amen.
