Scripture Focus: Genesis 18:1 to 8; Hebrews 13:2
Abraham welcomed three visitors without hesitation. He ran to meet them bowed before them and treated them with the highest honor. He did not know at first that they were messengers of God. Yet he eagerly prepared a feast for them and stood by ready to serve. What seemed like an ordinary act of hospitality became an encounter with the divine.
The New Testament reminds us Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it (Hebrews 13:2). Many divine encounters come in unexpected ways. When we open our hearts and homes to others we open ourselves to the presence of God. Abraham’s simple act of kindness became a doorway to a prophetic promise. How many moments of divine visitation do we miss because we are not paying attention?
Prayer:
Lord give me a heart of hospitality. Help me to serve others with love knowing that I may be entertaining Your presence without even realizing it. Amen.
