Shall I Hide This from Abraham?

Scripture Focus: Genesis 18:17 to 18; Amos 3:7

God was about to judge Sodom and Gomorrah when He made a profound statement. “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?” God saw Abraham as more than just a man of faith. He was a trusted friend. Abraham had walked in obedience, surrendered to God’s plans, and proven his faith through sacrifice. Because of this, God saw fit to reveal His intentions to him.

This is the privilege of those who walk closely with God. He does not leave His people in the dark concerning His plans. Amos 3:7 says, “Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets.” Many times, believers live unaware of what God is doing in their nation and generation. But those who seek Him, those who yield to His will, are granted access to divine insight. Abraham was not just receiving promises; he was being entrusted with God’s agenda. If we want to discern the times, we must be people of obedience, prayer, and surrender.

Prayer:

Lord, I desire to walk closely with You. Help me to be sensitive to Your voice and aligned with Your will. Reveal to me what You are doing in my generation. Amen.
