Scripture Focus: Genesis 20:8 to 9; Jonah 3:5 to 10
Abimelech rose early in the morning to make restitution. He did not delay in making things right. He recognized his wrongdoing, called it a great sin, and took immediate action. True repentance is not just feeling bad—it is taking steps to correct the wrong.
This passage highlights the importance of responding to God without hesitation. Abimelech, though unaware at first, acted immediately once he understood the truth. His quick response shows that when God speaks, the right thing to do is obey promptly. Delayed obedience can lead to unnecessary consequences. As believers, we must cultivate hearts that are sensitive to God’s word and quick to act on His instructions. True reverence for God is seen not just in what we believe but in how swiftly we respond when He speaks.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to obey You without delay. Give me the wisdom to recognize when I need to make things right and the courage to take action immediately. Amen.
