First, Be Found Faithful

Scripture Focus:

“These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock
with his brethren…” Genesis 37:2

Before any vision, before any palace, before any miracle, Joseph was simply working. The first
thing Scripture tells us about Joseph is not that he preached or healed or even interpreted
dreams. It was that he served. He was faithfully feeding the flock alongside his brothers, some
of whom were clearly irresponsible. He didn’t wait for a perfect work environment. He didn’t use
his age as an excuse. He just showed up.

This is a powerful picture: your spiritual depth must not exempt you from practical service.
Joseph was spiritual, but he was also hardworking. Just like David tending sheep, Joseph’s first
testimony was responsibility. Many want to lead, but won’t serve. Many want visibility, but won’t
show up in the shadows. Joseph did. And that’s what God honored. Your calling may be big, but
it begins small. Before your name reaches nations, let it be spoken well of in your home and
workplace.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to be faithful in the little You have placed in my hands. Make me diligent, useful,
and dependable where I am now. Amen.
