Scripture Focus:
“And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan.” – Genesis 37:17
Joseph had every reason to turn back. He had walked over 50 miles from home, probably on
foot. That’s more than 100,000 steps under the sun. When he got to Shechem and couldn’t find
his brothers, he didn’t give up. Even after wandering in the field, even after needing help from a
stranger, he still pressed on, walking another 15 miles to Dothan.
Some of the greatest breakthroughs come after we’ve already given our best. It’s that one more
step, one more try, one more prayer, one more conversation. Many would have turned back, but
not Joseph. He went all the way. When it comes to restoring a brother, saving a soul, or growing
spiritually, how far can you go? If you stop too soon, you may miss what God has prepared for
you at Dothan.
Prayer:
Father, give me the strength and heart to go the extra mile, especially when it matters most.
Amen.
