Scripture Focus:
“Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he
shaved himself, and changed his raiment…” Genesis 41:14
When Joseph was summoned, he didn’t rush into Pharaoh’s presence in prison clothes. He
shaved and changed his garment first. Though the matter was urgent, he understood that
presentation still mattered. Your appearance is not a substitute for character, but it is part of
your message. First impressions often shape how people receive you. Joseph knew that how he
showed up before the king would influence what came next.
As believers, we must not only grow in wisdom and grace but also carry ourselves with dignity
and intentionality. Let Jesus be seen in your speech, in your conduct, and in your dressing.
Whether male or female, dress with purpose. Present yourself in a way that reflects the God you
serve. Sometimes, your next opportunity is one meeting away. Like Joseph, prepare for that
moment with excellence.
Prayer: Lord, help me represent You well in every area of my life, including how I present myself
to others.
