Take Me Home

Scripture Focus: Genesis 50:13
“…For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave… which
Abraham bought… for a possession of a buryingplace.”
Jacob had lived his last 17 years in Egypt, surrounded by comfort, influence, and the finest
resources the land could offer. Yet when it came to his burial, he refused Egypt’s splendour and
insisted on being taken back to Canaan, the land of promise. Egypt had sustained him, but it
was never his home. His decision was a statement of faith, a reminder that God’s promises are
tied to His covenant, not to temporary blessings in foreign lands.
In the same way, we must remember that this world, no matter how comfortable, is not our
home. Our hope is anchored in God’s promises and our true inheritance in Him. Do not let the
glitter of your “Egypt” make you forget your Canaan. Live with eternity in view, making daily
choices that align with God’s covenant, not with the passing luxuries of the moment.

Prayer: Lord, help me to keep my heart fixed on my true home and Your eternal promises.
Amen.
