Stand firm

Scripture Focus: “So Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.” Exodus 6:9 NKJV

Every believer is a leader in one way or another, whether in your home, church, workplace, or even among friends. But leadership is tested most when those you are guiding are too discouraged to believe. This was Moses’ situation. He delivered God’s word to Israel, but instead of rejoicing, they turned away because of their broken spirit and heavy labour. Imagine how disheartening that must have been. Yet Moses did not let their despair swallow him. He did not throw up his hands in frustration or join their complaint. Instead, he went back to God for clarity and strength.

This is the true posture of a godly leader. When your family is weary, when your church feels hopeless, or when your team is discouraged, don’t add to their despair. Return to the Source. Take their pain and confusion back to God in prayer. A husband must stand firm when his home feels overwhelmed. A mother must hold on to God when her children are discouraged. A pastor must press deeper into God’s presence when the congregation cannot see what lies ahead. Your strength is not in pretending that things are easy but in seeking God until His word steadies you again. Leaders are called to be anchors in stormy times, pointing people back to the God who never fails.

Prayer: Lord, make me a leader who runs to You when others are discouraged. Help me to stand firm and point people back to Your promises. Amen.
