Scripture Focus: Genesis 19:15 to 22; James 1:6 to 8
When the angels told Lot to flee he hesitated. Even in the face of destruction he was reluctant to leave. Instead of obeying immediately he tried to negotiate. He was not fully convinced that God could protect him. His heart was divided between God’s command and his attachment to Sodom.
This is the struggle of many believers today. God calls us to leave behind what will destroy us but we hesitate. We try to hold onto pieces of the old life instead of running into God’s perfect will. A divided heart cannot fully walk in God’s plan. Faith demands complete trust. When God says flee do not negotiate. When He calls you out of something do not look back. Obedience must be immediate and complete.
Prayer:
Lord give me an undivided heart. Help me to trust You completely and obey without hesitation. Let me never cling to what You have called me to leave behind. Amen.
