Scripture Focus: Genesis 19:30 to 38; Second Peter 2:7 to 8
After the events in Sodom, Lot disappears from the pages of Scripture. His story ends in disgrace. Despite being called a righteous man in Second Peter 2:7, he left no lasting impact. He was spared from destruction, but his life did not carry the weight of divine purpose. In contrast, Abraham’s name is woven throughout Scripture as a man of faith, a father of nations, and a friend of God.
Lot teaches us that righteousness without obedience does not build a legacy. He chose comfort over calling, and his decisions shaped his destiny. Abraham, on the other hand, walked with God and left behind a heritage of faith. The question is not just whether we are saved, but whether we are living in a way that impacts generations.
Prayer:
Lord, let my life leave a lasting legacy for Your kingdom. Do not let me live in survival mode like Lot, but help me to walk in purpose like Abraham. Let my faith impact generations to come. Amen.
