At the Appointed Time

Scripture Focus: Genesis 21:2; Hebrews 6:12

Sarah conceived “at the very time God had promised” (Genesis 21:2). Though she had waited for years, God’s promise was fulfilled at the appointed time. It might have felt delayed, but it was never denied. God works with divine timing, and nothing can stop what He has ordained.

Waiting for God’s promises requires two key instruments—faith and patience. Hebrews 6:12 reminds us, “Do not be lazy, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.” Faith believes that God will do it, and patience sustains that belief until the fulfillment comes. If God has spoken, trust that it will happen at the right time. Do not grow weary, and do not take shortcuts. His appointed time is always perfect.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to wait with faith and patience. Even when things seem delayed, let me trust in Your appointed time. I believe that what You have spoken will surely come to pass. Amen.
