Scripture Focus: Genesis 23:17 to 20; Hebrews 11:13
God promised Abraham the entire land of Canaan, yet all he owned by the time Sarah died was
a burial field. That small piece of land, bought in grief, was the only physical evidence of the
promise. But Abraham didn’t panic. He didn’t question God’s faithfulness. He understood that
some promises aren’t fully enjoyed by the one who received them, but by the generations that
follow. His life was a seed. His obedience was the foundation. That field wasn’t just for Sarah. It
was a prophetic sign that the rest of the land would someday belong to his descendants.
Many times, we want everything God said to happen in our lifetime. But legacy often means
planting what others will harvest. You may only taste the beginning, but walk with God anyway.
Trust that your life is not in vain, even if all you get is a “field.” If God said it, that field is proof the
rest is coming. Keep sowing. Keep walking. Leave a testimony that your seed can build on.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to see beyond the now and live for what You are building through me. Teach me
to trust You when the evidence is small but the promise is sure. May my obedience lay the
groundwork for generations. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
