Burning not consumed

Scripture Focus: “The angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush.
Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.” – Exodus 3:2
The burning bush Moses saw was more than a sign, it was a picture of Israel’s story in Egypt.
For years they had suffered under the heat of oppression, yet they were not destroyed. God’s
presence was their shield, keeping them in the midst of the fire until the day He would bring
them out. This sight reminded Moses, and reminds us today, that no matter how fierce the
flames, when God is in the midst of His people, they cannot be consumed.
You may be walking through a season where the heat feels unbearable. The pressure, pain, or
trials may make you wonder if you can survive another day. But take heart, the intention of God
is not for you to be destroyed by the challenge, but to preserve you through it. Just as the bush
kept burning without being consumed, you will come out of this trial still standing, because His
presence is with you.
Prayer: Lord, thank You that no matter the intensity of my trials, I will not be consumed. Keep
me strong until my deliverance comes. Amen.
