Do Not Fight What God Has Allowed

Scripture Focus: Genesis 27:33; Proverbs 19:21
When Isaac realized he had blessed Jacob instead of Esau, the Bible says “Isaac trembled very
exceedingly.” Yet he did not retract the blessing. He said, “Yea, and he shall be blessed.”
(Genesis 27:33). That was wisdom. Isaac finally submitted to what God had ordained. Though
he had tried to follow his personal preference, God overruled his plan. And instead of resisting,
Isaac accepted it.
There are times in life when your plan is interrupted by God’s will. You may feel shocked,
disappointed, or confused, but when it is clear that God has allowed a thing, do not fight it.
Trying to undo what God has done only leads to more frustration. Isaac showed maturity by not
trying to reverse what God allowed. It was not what he intended, but it was what God intended.
There is peace in surrender.
If your plan has been disrupted and you know it is God at work, stop struggling. Submit.
Embrace it. God’s will is always better than your own. Let Him lead.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to surrender to Your will, especially when it interrupts mine. Let me not fight
what You have allowed. Amen.
