Scripture Focus: Genesis 24:12 to 14; Proverbs 3:5 to 6
There are many believers in the world, but there is still that one whom God has appointed for
you. When Abraham’s servant prayed, “Let it be the one You have appointed,” he wasn’t just
asking for a good person. He was asking for God’s best. This wasn’t about beauty or godliness
alone. It was about divine alignment. Just like in Eden, where God brought Eve to Adam, this
was one of the few moments in Scripture where God directly orchestrated a marriage. It teaches
us that while there are many good options, it’s still wisdom to seek God’s precise leading.
This doesn’t mean that if someone misses “the one,” they are doomed. But it does mean your
heart posture should be, “Lord, I trust You to choose for me.” Don’t reduce marriage to
checklists and feelings. Even when someone checks all the boxes—believer, kind,
beautiful—you must still ask: God, is this the one You’ve chosen for me? There’s safety in
surrender. Pray for God’s appointment, not just your preference. It’s not about finding someone
who simply fits. It’s about finding who was formed for your journey.
Prayer:
Father, I surrender my desires to You. Lead me to the one You have appointed and help me
trust Your timing and wisdom above my own understanding. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
