Envy Blocks What It Cannot Build

Scripture Focus: Genesis 26:14 to 15; James 3:16

Isaac became very wealthy, and the Philistines envied him. In their envy, they filled up all the wells that Abraham had dug, resources Isaac had a right to. These wells were a source of life in a dry land. But envy does not build or bless. It only seeks to block what it cannot own. Instead of learning from Isaac, they tried to stop him. That is what envy does.

Envy will make people destroy what could have blessed many, simply because it did not come through them. It clouds judgment and corrupts motives. Scripture warns that where envy exists, there is confusion and every evil work. As believers, we are called to live differently. Celebrate the success of others. Thank God for what He is doing in their lives. Envy steals your joy and delays your progress. Reject it and choose contentment. Honor what God is doing in others and trust Him to complete what He has started in you.

Prayer:

Lord, take envy out of my heart. Help me to celebrate others and walk in contentment. Amen.
