Even Giants Must Sleep

Scripture Focus: Genesis 25:7 to 8; Ecclesiastes 3:2
Abraham died. That simple sentence carries weight. The man who heard God, obeyed without
question, birthed nations, walked in covenant, and was called “the friend of God” still died. No
matter how mighty you are in faith, no matter how deep your walk with God is, one day you will
still breathe your last. And that’s not a tragedy. It’s a reminder. Life here is temporary. The real
reward isn’t in how long you live, but how well you live while you’re here. Abraham lived full
years, and then rested, content and satisfied.
The real lesson here isn’t just about legacy. It’s about readiness. Even giants in the faith must
sleep. Are you living like someone who knows this life has an end? Are you chasing what
matters or merely surviving? Abraham didn’t just live. He journeyed with God to the very end.
You may not control how or when you’ll die, but you can choose to walk closely with God until
your last breath. Live ready. That’s the real victory.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to number my days and live with eternity in view. Help me not just to live long,
but to live right, walking with You until my final breath. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
