Fear Not

Scripture Focus: Genesis 46:3
“And He said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there
make of thee a great nation.”
When God told Jacob not to be afraid to go to Egypt, it was more than simple reassurance, it
was a call to obey despite fear. Egypt was not Canaan, the land God had promised to his
fathers. Jacob knew the prophetic significance of Canaan, and he also knew the troubling
history of going down to Egypt; famines, compromises, and pain. His hesitation was natural, but
God still said, “Go.” This shows us that sometimes God will send us to places we would never
choose for ourselves, places that seem to contradict our expectations, yet are part of His bigger
plan.
Obedience is not always about stepping into a familiar or safe environment, it is about trusting
the One who sends you. The destination may look dangerous or even undesirable, but if God is
leading, He is also protecting and fulfilling His purpose in you. Go where He sends you without
fear. The place you dread might just be the place He uses to shape and multiply you.
Prayer: Lord, help me to obey You without fear, even when the place You send me feels
unfamiliar or uncomfortable. Amen.
