God’s Enduring Blessing

Scripture Focus: Genesis 17:20; Psalm 113:7 to 8
Have you ever wondered why many Arab nations, descendants traditionally linked to Ishmael,
are so prosperous today? In Genesis 17:20, God told Abraham, “As for Ishmael, I have heard
you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers.” Even
though Ishmael was not born from God’s perfect plan, God still blessed him. That blessing has
echoed through generations. Today we see nations like Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and
Saudi Arabia standing as some of the richest in the world. Their success may well reflect the
enduring mercy of God toward Ishmael’s lineage.
This is a message of hope. Maybe you made a mistake. Maybe you had a child outside of
marriage, or you took a step that didn’t come from full obedience. Still, God can show you mercy.

If He could bless Ishmael, born out of human error, He can bless you too. Man may
reject you, but God sees you. His mercy does not end where your mistake begins. Open your
heart to Him. Cry out for His mercy. He can still bless you, restore you, and lead you into a
future filled with purpose.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the God who blesses even when we fall short. Show me mercy and
lead me into the fullness of what You have prepared for me. I believe You can still bless my life.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
