Scripture Focus: “Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ‘Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal Zephon; you shall camp before it by the sea.’” Exodus 14:1–2 NKJV
It was God Himself who instructed Moses to lead Israel straight to the edge of the Red Sea. From a human perspective, it looked like a trap, the sea ahead, mountains on the side, and Pharaoh’s army chasing from behind. No leader in his right mind would have chosen such a route, yet this was God’s leading. This teaches us a profound truth: God’s direction does not always look like the easiest or safest path. Sometimes He leads us to situations that appear impossible, not because He wants us destroyed, but because He wants to reveal His glory in a way we could never imagine. Israel’s story reminds us that obedience to God’s leading may put us in uncomfortable or even frightening positions, but He never abandons us there.
In your walk with God, you may find yourself in a Red Sea moment, trapped between pressure behind and impossibility ahead. Do not assume that you missed God simply because the road is hard. The same God who led Israel into that place of no return was the God who made a way through the sea. What looked like a dead end became their greatest deliverance. Trust that when God leads, He already has the miracle prepared. The path of obedience may not be the path of comfort, but it is always the path of victory. Keep following Him even when you don’t understand, because your Red Sea is not the end, it is the stage for God’s glory to be revealed.
Prayer: Lord, help me to trust Your leading even when it doesn’t make sense. Strengthen my faith to follow You into the impossible, knowing You will make a way. Amen.
