Scripture Focus: “You shall NOT murder… You shall NOT commit adultery…” Matthew 5:21-22, 27-28.
Lamech’s life is a warning to us all. He was guilty of two major sins: adultery and anger, which were against God’s design. His choice to take two wives introduced immorality, while his violent response in anger displayed unchecked wrath.
Jesus addressed these same issues in Matthew 5, where He taught against anger and warned that even harbouring hate is equal to murder. Jesus also emphasised purity, teaching that merely looking with lust is committing adultery in the heart. Through this, we see that Lamech’s sins are a timeless warning for us to reject immorality and anger. Instead, we should seek a life aligned with God’s will.
Prayer: I enjoy the grace to rule over sin in Jesus’ name. Amen
