Love Makes Fellowship a Delight, Not a Duty

Scripture Focus: Genesis 29:20; Psalm 27:4
“And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the
love he had for her.” (Genesis 29:20). This is one of the most powerful pictures of what love
does to time, labor, and consistency. Jacob worked day after day for seven years, yet to him it
felt like only a few days. Why? Because he truly loved Rachel. His love removed the weight of
the work. It turned long days into joyful moments. This is the same principle that should define
your walk with God.

When you truly love God, fellowship with Him is not a burden. Prayer, studying Scripture, and
worship are no longer things you have to do, they become things you want to do. Love changes
the atmosphere of your spiritual life. Time in God’s presence feels light, refreshing, and
rewarding. If intimacy with God feels dry or hard, ask Him to stir fresh love in your heart. You
can get to the point where hours in prayer feel like moments. This is what love does; it makes
long service feel like no time at all.
Prayer:
Lord, stir my heart with fresh love for You. Let fellowship become my greatest delight. Amen.
