Scripture Focus: “For SIN SHALL NOT HAVE dominion over you…” – Romans 6:14
In Genesis, God warned Cain, saying, “Sin lies at your door… but you must rule over it.” God offered Cain the choice to overcome anger and jealousy, yet Cain chose to dismiss his wrongdoing with the question, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” This early instruction on mastering sin predates the teachings of the New Testament, showing that overcoming sin has always been a choice.
As Christians, we are called to reject all bitterness and sin. Mastering sin involves staying vigilant and eliminating any temptation that might lead us astray. You don’t have to be ruled by sin. Through Christ’s finished work, you can declare victory over every temptation and live in the freedom He offers.
Prayer: I walk in dominion over sin and all forms of unrighteousness in Jesus’ name.
