Scripture Focus: Genesis 22:3; John 10:27
Early the next morning. Those four words speak volumes. Abraham didn’t delay, didn’t consult
anyone, didn’t sit with the decision for days. God had spoken, and that was enough. He rose up
early to obey. When most of us would still be wrestling with doubt or trying to explain things to
others, Abraham acted immediately. Delay can kill obedience. If he had waited till the second
day, wrong counsel or fear could have talked him out of it. When God gives a clear instruction,
the safest response is prompt action.
Abraham recognized the voice of God. He didn’t need a second confirmation or a sign in the
sky. He knew God’s voice, and that confidence came from intimacy. Many people struggle with
obedience because they’re still unsure if it’s God speaking. But when you truly know His voice,
you won’t wrestle. You’ll rise. One of the most powerful things you can build in your walk with
God is that familiarity with His voice. Learn to recognize Him. And when He speaks, move.
Obey while the fire is fresh.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to know Your voice deeply and clearly. Give me the courage to obey You
promptly and the faith to act even when it’s difficult. Teach me to rise early and respond without
delay. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
