Scripture Focus: Genesis 19:4 to 11; Ephesians 4:18 to 19
The men of Sodom were not just sinful. Their sin had become aggressive and forceful. They were so consumed by their desires that even after being struck with blindness they still groped in the dark trying to force their way into Lot’s house. This was not just personal sin. It was a culture of rebellion against God.
Sin does not just separate people from God. It hardens the heart and blinds the mind. Even when judgment was already upon them the men of Sodom did not stop. This is the danger of unchecked sin. When a person or a society rejects God for too long their hearts become numb to conviction. They refuse to repent even when divine intervention is clear. Only the mercy of God can break such bondage.
Prayer:
Lord keep my heart sensitive to Your voice. Do not let me grow comfortable in sin. Open my eyes to see and my heart to repent quickly. Amen.
