Testify boldly

Scripture Focus: “Then Moses told his father-in-law all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardship that had come upon them on the way, and how the Lord had delivered them. Then Jethro rejoiced for all the good which the Lord had done for Israel…” Exodus 18:8–9 NKJV

When Jethro arrived in Israel’s camp, Moses didn’t hide or minimize what God had done. He recounted the mighty acts of deliverance, the plagues in Egypt, the Red Sea crossing, and the Lord’s faithfulness through their hardships. Jethro, though not an Israelite, rejoiced at the testimony and declared, “Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods” (Exodus 18:11). Moses’ testimony became the bridge that led Jethro to acknowledge the God of Israel. What moved Jethro was not Moses’ leadership skills or strategies, but the stories of God’s mighty hand. Testimonies carry power, because they reveal God’s character in ways that arguments and logic cannot.

Many believers stay silent about the encounters and victories God has given them. Yet, your story may be the very spark that ignites faith in someone else. People are not just won to Christ by sermons alone but also by real-life demonstrations of God’s power and mercy. Don’t bury your testimony, share how God saved you, healed you, provided for you, or saw you through a challenge. Your salvation story is not ordinary; it was designed to inspire others to seek the God who rescued you. Likewise, when you tell of God’s goodness, hearts will soften, idols will lose their grip, and others will glorify God. Remember, silence keeps testimonies hidden, but boldness turns them into tools of evangelism.

Prayer: Lord, give me boldness to share the stories of Your faithfulness. Let my testimony draw others to acknowledge You as the only true God. Amen.
