Scripture Focus: Genesis 12:11-13; Philippians 2:3-4
When Abram left Canaan for Egypt, he instructed Sarai to say she was his sister instead of his
wife (Genesis 12:11-13). His motivation was fear, he prioritized his safety over truth, putting
Sarai at risk. Instead of trusting God’s protection, he relied on deception, a decision that led to
unintended consequences.
Fear-driven decisions often lead to compromise. When self-preservation takes precedence over
faith, we justify wrong actions. True faith trusts in God’s sovereignty rather than manipulation.
As believers, we must reject selfish choices and act with integrity, ensuring our decisions reflect
righteousness rather than fear.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust You completely and not act out of fear. Give me wisdom to make
decisions that honor You. Amen.
