The Lord will provide

Scripture Focus: Genesis 22:13 to 14; John 1:29
As Abraham raised the knife to sacrifice his son, God interrupted and provided a ram, right on
time. Isaac was spared because a substitute had already been prepared. This moment wasn’t

just about Abraham’s obedience. It was a divine preview of what God would later do on that
same mountain range, when He gave Jesus as the Lamb for the sins of the world. In Isaac’s
place, a ram. In our place, a Savior. This is the gospel hidden in plain sight.
God never demanded what He wouldn’t one day provide. Abraham named that place “The Lord
will provide”, and that name still speaks. When you walk in obedience, you don’t need to
manufacture provision. It will be waiting where God sends you. If God gave you the instruction,
He’s already placed what you need somewhere along the path. Your only job is to obey. The
Lamb was already waiting.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Jesus, my perfect substitute. Help me to obey even when I don’t see how
everything will come together. I trust that You have already provided what I need. In Jesus’
name. Amen.
