Scripture Focus: Genesis 21:25 to 30; Ecclesiastes 3:7
In ancient times, a well wasn’t just a water source, it was survival, wealth, and legacy. Imagine
working hard to dig something so valuable, only for someone to take it without a word. For many
of us, that’s like someone stealing from your business, hijacking your dream, or cheating you
out of something precious. You’d want to fight back immediately. But Abraham didn’t. He knew
his well had been taken, but he said nothing. Until the right moment came.
When Abimelech later came to honor him, Abraham calmly raised the issue, and it was resolved
without a fight. This is the power of restraint and wisdom. You don’t have to chase after
everything that’s been taken from you. Some victories come when you wait, watch, and speak
at the right time. What’s yours will return to you when your voice is led by wisdom, not anger. So
take heart. God is not unjust. You haven’t lost anything He cannot restore. Wait for the right
moment. Keep your peace. Your calm confidence will speak louder than your frustration ever
could.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to wait for the right moment. Teach me not to rush or fight in my own strength.
Give me wisdom and courage to speak with grace and power when the time is right. In Jesus’
name. Amen.
