WHEN OBEDIENCE LEADS TO CHALLENGES

Scripture Focus: Genesis 12:8; James 1:2-4
God told Abraham to go to Canaan, and one would think that mere obedience would guarantee
an easy journey. Yet, Genesis 12:8 reveals a surprising reality; there was famine in the land
God had sent him to. Imagine arriving at the place of divine instruction only to face hardship.
This reminds us that obedience to God does not always mean instant comfort or perfect
conditions.
When we follow God’s leading, challenges may arise. But the presence of difficulty does not
mean we are outside of God’s will. Instead, it is an opportunity to trust Him more deeply. Faith is
not just about arriving at the destination but about standing firm when circumstances seem
contrary to the promise. Stay steadfast, God is still in control.
Prayer: Lord, help me to remain steadfast in obedience, even when challenges arise.
Strengthen my faith to trust that Your plans will always prevail. Amen.
