WHEN WEALTH DIVIDES

Scripture Focus: Genesis 13:5-7; 2 Peter 2:7
Before Abram and Lot became wealthy, they lived together peacefully. But as soon as their
riches increased, strife arose, forcing them to part ways (Genesis 13:6-7). This wasn’t a conflict
between an unbeliever and a believer, Lot was a righteous man (2 Peter 2:7). Yet, the
abundance of possessions created a rift that once never existed.
Wealth, when not managed with the right heart, can subtly divide even believers. What should
have been a blessing became a reason for separation. Money is a tool, not a master, and when
it begins to dictate our relationships, priorities, and peace, we must realign our hearts. As
Christians, we must ensure that our pursuit of material blessings never outweighs our
commitment to unity and godly relationships.
Prayer: Lord, help me to handle wealth with wisdom and humility. May I never allow money to
dictate my relationships or cause division. Amen.
