Scripture Focus: Genesis 26:8 to 11; Numbers 32:23
Isaac thought he could hide his lie, but eventually his sin found him out. The pagan king Abimelech saw him showing affection to Rebekah and confronted him. Isaac was rebuked, not by a prophet, not by an angel, but by a man who did not even serve the living God. What a humbling moment. Abraham had once been in the same situation, and now Isaac was repeating the pattern. This teaches us a clear truth: sin does not stay hidden forever.
You may cover it for a while, but exposure will come if repentance does not. Worse still, it is a terrible thing when unbelievers are the ones correcting believers. Our lives should shine so brightly that the world sees Jesus through us, not stumbles because of us. When we sin and keep going without repentance, we become poor examples, even to those outside the faith. But God is merciful. He does not expose to shame, He exposes to heal. Repent early. Break the pattern. Let your life silence the critics and draw men to Christ.
Prayer:
Lord, help me walk in truth and humility. Let me never be a bad example to the watching world. Amen.
